Infusion therapy guidelines:

We strive to meet the unique needs of each of our infusion patients. Many desire to have family and friends present during treatments. We welcome the opportunity to make you as comfortable as possible during your treatments, however, visitors may be restricted at times at the discretion of our nursing staff. Please review these guidelines before your treatment visit:

  • Wear comfortable clothing that can be layered in case you become too warm or cold in the infusion center.
  • Please do not wear any perfume, colognes or fragrances.
  • Given the treatment time range with some lasting up to six hours, it is advisable to bring books, magazines, e-readers, crossword puzzles or other types of word games.
  • Free Wi-Fi is available. Please use earphones with electronic devices including iPads, laptop computers, cell phones, electronic games and MP3 players to respect the comfort of other patients.
  • Bring along hobbies or handiwork such as knitting or needlework.
  • Because infusions are typically administered through an arm, please wear clothing that provides staff easy access.
  • Certain infusions may require that someone be available to drive you home.
  • You may eat or drink as usual unless specific instructions are given.
  • Take daily medications as usual, particularly blood pressure medications.
